Hands Up- Song By Nate Davis

Honestly I don’t even know with this song. I remember it was after another police shooting, another kid of color, and I was just kinda out of it. It’s hard to watch that happen so many times without being desensitized. So it’s like 1am, I can’t sleep, and I just hopped on and produced a beat. Went and found a couple of videos of various shootings, clipped the audio, and released it— I remember being kind of delirious because I hadn’t slept, but I think that even with the bad quality it’s one of the more important things I have made. Just trying to get the sadness and pain that comes from part of my identity out there, ya know? -Nate Davis
