"Blossoming Into Your Own Beauty" - Tara Beier's New Album "Super Bloom"
“You are built not to shrink down to less but to blossom into more. Super Bloom is about overcoming obstacles and blossoming into your own beauty. “
Los Angeles mixed-race singer-songwriter, Tara Beier, hopes to help heal and uplift through her next album “SUPER BLOOM” during these times of coronavirus. The record is about personal recovery, growth, and freedom from the past. Her music has been described as a “mental healing balm” for recovery and trauma. Her unique voice thrives in her genre of alternative folk and with her new album Super Bloom, this voice begins to shine through at its fullest.
On her mixed identity, Tara writes that-
“My father is Filipino and mother, English/Scottish. I grew up in a predominately white community and my father was never interested in sharing too much about his heritage as he wanted to integrate into North American life. Growing up was a bit confusing. The mixed-race experience for me was a double-edged sword. I would be considered “brown” or "yellow" to my white friends and "white" to my Filipino/Asian friends. That was a bit lonely I guess. However, the positives were that I was able to expand on both sides and see beyond race. It also forced me to really go inside and find my true self. Super Bloom, the album is about overcoming obstacles and blossoming into your own beauty. When we go inside, what exists is our spirit and that’s all that matters. It baffles me that people are still fighting and dividing over the pigment of someone’s skin! We must continue to evolve as one human race and rise above the negativity…”
